if i were a wise hermit

a man climbed up the mountain, seeking the wise hermit who lived there.
"what do you seek?" asked the wise hermit.
"i seek happiness," replied the man.
the hermit replied, "what do you think will make you happy?"
the man thought for a while, and answered what he thought will make him happy.
the hermit replied, "nothing will make you happy."
the man was shocked and puzzled, and asked, "what do you mean?"
"wanting nothing will make you happy."
